    Nina,

You can't change an existing transaction. Simply go to the Salesforce Virtual Terminal and do a new transaction.

Existing transactions cannot be changed in the existing release. Spring 2014 will have this feature.

How do I charge a card that is already in the system via a reference transaction?

How do I charge a card that is already in the system via a reference transaction as stated below? Does the new transaction need to be connected to a transaction that has been refunded? Does the process make the updates in the salesforce database or do we need to do that manually?

    Good day Ned,

The problem with partial refund is certain gateways don't support it and we have decided to offer features that are supported by all the gateways we support.

There is a solution for this- you may cancel the entire charge and charge the card the correct amount immediately afterwards. Are you using Salesforce? In Salesforce you may charge an existing credit card through the reference transaction and that is what is used by everyone to deal with partial credit.

    Hope that answers the question.

    Partial refunds

I've looked through the documentation and the forum, and it seems like there isn't a way to process a partial refund through Click & Pledge.
Is it actually the case that the only way to issue refunds is by using the "Credit Transaction" feature of the Virtual Terminal, which only allows you to issue a full refund?

We have conference registrations costing many hundreds of dollars running though the platform, and it would be extremely useful to offer attendees partial refunds based on our cancellation policy that can be processed directly through C&P instead of writing and mailing refund checks.
