Swiper1 and Auctions - still not an option?

Hello! I just wanted to confirm whether there is a way to use Auctions for Salesforce on a tablet/mobile with a swiper. Last I've known, this is not an option (users have to enter the credit card information by hand), but I just wanted to be sure.

Alternatively, would it be possible to use the Swiper1 app to authorize cards for checkout (e.g. run a $0 transaction)?

It is not yet possible but you may pre-authorize the card in Swiper1 and later use it upon checkout using "card on file" option.
