  • Swiper1 not staying connected via bluetooth after update

We purchased 4 Samsung Galaxy Note SCH-I925 tablets earlier this year and have used successfully with the plug in Swiper 1 CC reader; however, after updating to the newest Swiper1 software, the devices will not stay connected after clicking Save Changes on the Device Manager interface.

Yes, all bluetooth is turned on and we even see AND connect to the new bluetooth Swiper1. But once we click Save Changes, the bluetooth connection is terminated and cards connected be swiped.

    Good day @jeffmcguire11

Please follow the below step by step instructions to connect the Bluetooth device and let us know if you still find any issues:

    1. Phone Settings >> Turn ON the Bluetooth
    2. Open Swiper1 App
    3. Navigate to Device Manager
    4. Turn ON Swiper1 Bluetooth
    5. Here you will see the list of "Available Swiper1 Bluetooth Devices" as shown in the below image:

    6. Simply select the device and click on Save Changes.

Hello. I verified that Keith was following this. Here is his response below:

      Jeff,

I did follow these guidelines. The Swiper 1 Bluetooth device connects, the light on the device goes solid (from flashing), and then when I save changes, the light on the device starts flashing even though the Swiper 1 app is reporting that it is connected. When the light is flashing, the device does not communicate with the tablet and is unable to process transactions. When I go back to Device Manager, it says the Bluetooth device is still connected – but light on the Bluetooth continues to flash. When I hit connect again, the light on the device becomes solid until I click save changes when the light begins flashing again. There is no way to exit device manager without clicking save changes.

          Good day @jeffmcguire11

Please ignore the light signals and try to process a transaction once you follow the steps mentioned above.

Please test it, it should work.

Even though Keith made this statement above "When the light is flashing, the device does not communicate with the tablet and is unable to process transactions.." , I will forward your recent message to him.

              Good day @jeffmcguire11

Yes, please. When they move to the transaction page, the light becomes solid and will process the transaction. Please ask Keith to start over with the above mentioned steps.
