Scan feature on iOS 11 / Fifth Generation iPad

Hi,

My organization recently used the Swiper 1 app on our generation 5 iPad (iOS 11) for the first time in a few months, and noticed that while our Swiper1-iii device now works on the iPad, the credit card scan feature is no longer available. We are happy to be able to use the swiper device, but had found the scan feature to be much faster. Do you know if it will return in a future update? (I notice it is still available on my old iPhone 4C with iOS 10.3).

Yes, the scan feature has been removed because we are developing the Bluetooth feature from which you may swipe the card flawlessly. Hopefully, it will be out in next 2-3 months. The device which you are referring to might be running an older version of the Swiper1 app.

As a reference, the scan feature was removed due to lack of use and poor performance. Our clients use the Swiper1 at events and the OCR capability of the scanner had extremely poor performance in low light. It was also totally ineffective with new cards where the card number is not embossed on the surface of the credit card.

Last year's release on December 1 was the version that removed the OCR. The following is the release note that was included with the phone update when it was released.
