  • Can we use any subdomain for the CNAME record for the mobile site?

    Hello,

If this question is answered elsewhere feel free to point me in the right direction and close this thread.

    1. As far as the mobile site goes should we setup a CNAME records like:

sub.awesomesite.com and point it to Clients.M.ClickandPledge.mobi?

If we do that... how does your service know it is for us?

    2. Will the main page auto detect and redirect to mobile. In other words, if clients visit the main C&P page on a mobile device will it redirect to the mobile page automatically?

    Good day @ClintonBrown,

    Replies to your questions:

    1. As far as the mobile site goes should we setup a CNAME records like: sub.awesomesite.com and point it to Clients.M.ClickandPledge.mobi?

REPLY: A CNAME posts the URL to our servers. Our servers will read the URL that is requesting the site and will deliver the content for the URL as set in the portal. If you set up the CNAME correctly and add that to our Portal we will do the rest.

    2. Will the main page auto detect and redirect to mobile. In other words, if clients visit the main C&P page on a mobile device will it redirect to the mobile page automatically?

REPLY: NO - the mobile site is used when people go to the
sub.awesomesite.com - that is why we also provide an easy way to generate the QR code to be used for scanning and visiting the site. Payment forms do not redirect to mobile sites.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
