SMS Transaction Details?

My organization just enabled SMS giving and I'm having trouble finding information on what details are captured from the donor and when the deposit is made. Will the deposit be made within 48 hours of the donor's text? What information is captured about the donor? Will we receive the phone number or the billing address of the donor?

The SMS behaves just a credit card and is NOT (I emphasize NOT) like the text giving that you see on Television or elsewhere. You may want to read the following article: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/con...-Mobile-Giving

Donors, when making a donation through a checkout page, add their mobile phone # for SMS giving in the future. Once the transaction goes through an SMS message will be sent to their mobile phone asking for authorization and upon authorization the phone number will be associated with the reference to their credit card on file. Click & Pledge does not store credit card numbers but saves a reference transaction so future transactions may be run. We use the same reference transaction for recurring donations.

When an SMS sent in the future the system will use the reference transaction on file and processes the new transaction just like a credit card. The fee is just a donation being made through a website and the report includes all information as before since it is related to a donor already in the system.

All payments are settled in 48 hours and direct deposited in your bank account with all your other donations throughout the day. Reports include the same information as other checkout pages.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Just to clarify, I was asking about the SMS feature that's described here where the user texts a short code and an amount to the C&P number (716-464-0833). It sounds like it's different from mobile payments. Can you clarify for me?

Yes- what I described is exactly what is there. A donor has to first make a donation using a checkout page and register their mobile phone number and then make a donation by using SMS.

Please note that the SMS giving that is done directly with a mobile phone- which we DO NOT do costs in excess of 60% of transactions and the phone companies will deposit the money in 90 days without any information. It is a complete waste of donor's money and the phone companies will make more than you do. There is also a limit of $20 on transactions per month.

With Click & Pledge we charge the person's credit card and will deposit in 48 hours without any additional charge. You also get full donor information.
