I have a client who is starting to track in more detail any time a donor covers the additional fees related to an online donation. I know that you set this option on the related campaign in Connect, but it doesn't appear that this amount is actually separated out from the Opportunity/donation amount total. Is there a way to route or map additional fees to a custom field in Salesforce instead of being added to the Opportunity amount?

Additional Fees As Separate Amount

Hi lsoulet ,
Under the standard configuration, there is an Opportunity created for the donation, and a separate Opportunity created for the Additional Fee. The amount is then separated out from the amount total, but as two separate Opportunities (each representing a line-item on the transaction).
A lot of customers want the Opportunity to represent the transaction, not the line-item (until they run into the situation where they don't). From a data standpoint, it wouldn't make sense to create more and more fields for every line item on a transaction - having the transaction as a parent object (C&P Transaction record) and the line-items as child objects (Opportunities) was the best configuration for accounting purposes. Line items could be coded separately.
But all the data is there - I recommend setting up a Salesforce report with a report type of "Opportunities and C&P Order Number". You can then access fields on both the C&P Transaction Record and on the Opportunity, grouping by Order Number.
Now if you're trying to generate a report that groups donations that don't have an additional fee, and separately group the ones that do - that's trickier. In that case, it may be easiest to do a C&P Transactions report and use a cross-filter as 'with Opportunities with an Additional Fee', and then have a similar report with the cross-filter set to 'without Opportunities with an Additional Fee'. And that also depends on how your Additional Fee Opportunities are recorded - if they have the Additional Fee, did that Additional Fee have a set SKU? Or would you have to define those based on the Opportunity Name? (as in the example above)Regards,
