  • What are the situations that result in a blank Referring URL?

    We have gifts coming in via Connect Forms, and I switched out the form (to one pointing at a different Salesforce campaign) on their website. But we keep getting gifts to that old form/campaign. I look at the C&P Transaction record in Salesforce, hoping to learn where they accessed this form, and the URL Referrer has been blank for much of them. The link isn't in an email that's been sent, so I'm trying to figure out what other referrers might result in a blank URL. Thanks for your help!

    Would you please share both of the form URLs as well as the order numbers so that we can review the Campaign issue? Also, please share the Campaign name you are expecting in the new form.

    Regarding the referring URL, one of the known reasons is transactions are processed from a direct form link.

      There isn't a campaign issue with the forms - it's a rogue link to the old form somewhere, and I was trying to find where that link is. It sounds like people must be clicking it from an email, since the Referring URL is blank. We took down the 'old' form (from the website) in September, and gifts were still being made through that form even this month. I was trying to figure out where they came from, but the URL Referrer is blank. Some of the order numbers for those include:
      • 27814-2110032120493644429
      • 27814-2110042140537838554
      • 27814-2110082049582053769
      While pulling up those order numbers, I saw some gifts made through the 'old' form that came from their main website, so I'm guessing we didn't update the website with the new form in September when I thought we did. Anyway, I just wanted to confirm what the reasons are for a blank "Referring URL."

      Here's the 'new' URL: https://connect.clickandpledge.com/w...b-188ea4bc876d - it now points to a campaign called "2021 Missed BFL Donations" but it was pointing to "2021 BFL Website Donations" (though I'm pretty sure I had to manually move all the donations currently in that campaign).

      The 'old' URL is https://connect.clickandpledge.com/w...3-a23f7b2d8885

        If they are processing from an old form instead of the new one from the email link as you mentioned, in that case, you can update the old SF Campaign with a new SF Campaign in the old form to avoid manual updating in the future.
