I think this possibly could also fit in the Salesforce category, since I have two questions related to an incorrect state picklist value. We had a donor complain that the state picklist on the donor form was incorrect. I'm pretty sure he mistakenly chose United States Minor Outlying Islands instead of United States, so he didn't see the values he was expecting. He just typed his real city and state in the city field (and it matched the address we already had for him in the US).
But, when I was investigating this issue, I did notice a typo in the State picklist for United States Minor Outlying Islands. The last value is "Wake Ialand" and I believe it should be "Wake Island"
The second part of my question has to deal with Salesforce. The donor in question chose Wake Ialand as the value for state (because he couldn't find his state in the picklist because he chose the wrong country) and in the C&P Data record for the transaction it showed Wake Ialand in the XML. But, in the C&P Contact Alias that was created it showed the value "79" in the State field instead of "Wake Ialand" or "Wake Island." I was assuming that was just the backend value of that picklist value, but when I copied it to his record as a test, it filled the state field with 79. So, there may be something strange going on in your state mapping in Salesforce for that value as well.
