  • Give permission to select users to run C&P reports

In Salesforce, our Development Profile has access to Click&Pledge reports. I ran a report for a select group of users who are not in the Development Profile, but they cannot access it. It does seem to be a permission in the Development Profile. I wanted to find that permission in the Development Profile and grant it to the select group with a permission set. I wasn't able to do that and reached out to Salesforce support. After some investigation, they sent me the email below. Do you have any suggestions how I can open up access to the Click&Pledge report?

Salesforce response: Upon checking, the report type called Opportunities and C&P Order Number is from a managed package called Click & Pledge. As much as we wanted to help you, Click & Pledge is a third party application not created and not supported by Salesforce. This may require unique implementation and setup for which Salesforce does not have official resources, training or materials. I apologize for the inconvenience on this matter.

Good morning. I just granted access to my account. The User Profile is CC Read Only. Do you need specific access to that? Also, I would rather use a permission set than adjust the read-only profile. If possible. Thank you.

        Good day @[email protected]

In order to review, we need access from the user who has CC Read-Only profile.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

She does not have the option to grant access to Click&Pledge, which may help identify the problem. I do not want her to be able to log into Click&Pledge, but I want her to be able to access reports. Is it possible for that to happen.

It is a Clickand Pledge report within Salesforce: https://na82.lightning.force.com/lig...pe=userFolders. The report is called Click & Pledge Gifts from Prior Month.

                    Good day @[email protected]

We have assigned the permissions to the profile. Would you please check if that user able to access the report?

Thank you for your help. She can access it now. However, I had said that I would rather grant the access to individual users via a permission set rather than adding access to the profile. With this permission is it ONLY possible to grant it to a profile? Or is it possible to grant via permission set? Or some other non-profile method? As it is, I will need to clone this profile, which is read-only, and then remove the click&pledge permission. Not everyone with this profile should have access to Click&Pledge.

                        Good day @[email protected]

You may give permission via permission set but you need to make sure object-level has View All permission for the Transaction object as well as Opportunity object and should have field level permission as well.

The org-wide default for Opportunity is Private, but I granted certain people (including the people who should have access to the C&P report) sharing rules to access individual gifts. Cick&Pledge Transaction has public read write.Does that accomplish what you are saying?

Yes, but since you have created the report on the opportunity, in this case, who is running the report that user should have the access to the opportunity record then it will visible otherwise that opportunity will not visible until you give the full access(view all) to opportunity object.

                            Hope that helps.

I really do not understand your response. She did have access to the opportunity. There was issue that only had to do with Click&Pledge, which is why Salesforce sent me here. What I'm asking is if the Click&Pledge permissions you added in the profile could be done in a permission set.

Can you send me a screenshot of what you created at the profile level? I can then take next steps -- either creating a permission set and removing the permissions from the read-only profile. OR cloning the profile so I can have one readonly with click&pledge permission and one without.
