  • Donation Pages not working

Our donation button on our forum does not work for regular gifts. You can fill out the whole form but then when you get to the bottom of the page, the "submit donation" button is unresponsive. If you make a tribute gift (one of our options), you can submit your donation no problem. We are three days out from our EOY deadline and this needs to be resolved ASAP.

We're experiencing this issue as well on our forms. Here's one page in particular that isn't working: https://www.discovery.org/id/csc-eoy/. We've gotten at least 3 people having problems with this (as well as ourselves when we test it). It looks like the last donation we got into our system was this morning at 11:20 am (PST), so the issues may have started happening after that.

I've experienced this issue in Firefox and others have experienced it in Chrome. It seems to be happening for both ACH and Credit Card donations. What's interesting is if all the fields aren't filled out (or if there is an error in one), it allows you to click the button and gives the appropriate error message. However, once the information is filled in correctly, the button no longer works (no processing icon, nothing).

Sorry for your trouble. We have identified the issue with the Coral Reef Alliance and our support has already notified them of the issue. Their form works fine as stand alone but has an issue when iframed. The issue appears to be a custom code they have added to the site. The error has nothing to do with the CONNECT form.

We are reviewing your page and will update you shortly.

One more point - may I ask that you please check your form without iframe?

Is your site a WordPress site?

Please let us know. We like to know if your form works as a stand alone outside the iframe.

Okay, thanks. I did just go test a standalone form and you're right it seems to be working. We aren't using the WordPress plugin (even though we have a Wordpress site), just the embed code. We can direct people to the standalone pages in the interim.

              Good to know so far..

May we ask that you add our plugin and add that to your site? I don't blame you if you don't do this, 3 days before the end of the year.

              We are testing this..

We had the plugin before, but it doesn't work right with multisite yet so we weren't able to use it for our forms. Our developer also noticed that it was throwing some PHP errors, so we'd prefer not to add it to our main site right now. I'm working on giving a standalone link on some of our most used pages, but then I may be able to try the plugin on a lesser used site to see if that makes a difference.

Yes - I am aware of multi-site feature of WordPress and I think we have come up with an update for that WP feature.

We are testing this.. stay tuned.

I did a quick test and the plugin does appear to make it work: https://beacons.discovery.org/test/. However, we won't be able to use the plugin for all the forms that are broken since only one of them is on the main site (the others are on subsites and the plugin settings won't verify). We haven't made any changes to our site today that we are aware of and the embed code was working before.

Actually, the embedded forms without the plugin now appear to be working correctly. Did you change anything? We didn't change anything.

May I ask that you test your form now as it was before, in iFrame?

Can you confirm that it was something that you changed that fixed it? And do you think it will stop working again today? Trying to see if it's safe to leave the embedded forms or if it would be better to still switch them out for standalone (since that would be a bit of work).

Early this morning a security update was made to satisfy an update with WordPress. We just reverted back to the previous version and tested.

WordPress is causing issue with iframe.

Your site is working - please confirm.
