Sorry, we missed this post. Please note that the payment method in Virtual Terminal is nothing but the payment type. Once the transaction processed the payment type and details will be displayed at the Transaction details page.
Regarding the check# of custom payment, we are not showing it in the opportunity details page whereas we are showing all payment details in the C&P Transaction details page.

Wondering if you saw my response above from 10/04/19
I'm looking on the Salesforce Virtual Terminal and I'm not seeing the C&P Payment Type
I'd also like the reference# /check# to also be a C&P field so it also goes through to the opportunity

Good day @Monique
We reviewed the above order number and noticed that it has been processed from Virtual Terminal with the custom payment type as Check. The field which you are referring to is NOT C&P field nor we are updating it. We have added the "C&P Payment Type" field to the opportunity layout where you can see it shows as "Check".
Regarding the Connect odometer, in order to show there, you need to select the Connect Campaign in Virtual Terminal while processing the transaction:

Checks entered through Virtual Terminal changes to "credit" in SalesForce
1) When I enter a check through the Virtual Terminal on SalesForce or the back-end of Click & Pledge, the opportunity changes the payment method to "credit" and does not show the check #.
An example is Order # 60252-190926144229710
2) When entering it via SalesForce's Virtual Terminal, the donation does not show up on the "odometer"
