  • Can't change campaign in Connect for recurring transaction

    I'm trying to change the Salesforce campaign name and ID for this order: 36448-190507141440234 I clicked edit/manage recurring. I'm trying to change it to 19.04 General Appeal Handwritten A NP Regular [1RAMAF] with the ID 7011K000001JCun but every time I clicked update, it reverts back to the original campaign that I"m trying to change.

    The issue is related to the name of your campaign which is 70 characters long. We are researching this and will resolve the limit in a future update but at this time the limit is 50 characters.

    Can you limit your campaign name to 50 characters? Please note that the #1 priority is to the Campaign ID so if you shorten it in Connect nothing will be affected in Salesforce as long as the campaign ID is correct. We will match the Campaign name ONLY if the ID cannot be found.

      That's good to know that there's a limit. Unfortunately, internally we have a limit of 80 characters so that's how thousands of other Salesforce campaigns are in our database. The campaign id also wouldn't update. How can I update just the campaign
      I think this character limit is also causing an issue with the Virtual terminal as well when we processed the credit card, it cut off the campaign name and because of this the system created a new campaign instead: 19.04 General Appeal Handwritten A NP Regular [1RA instead of 19.04 General Appeal Handwritten A NP Regular [1RAMAF]. It needs to be corrected in Virtual terminal because this is causing a huge issue for us.

        mjokiman Please shorten the name and it will update the CampaignID. As stated above, as far as the CampaignID is correct, no matter what is the name of the Campaign, we give first preference to the CampaignID NOT the Campaign Name. So if you shorten the Campaign name, it won't create a new campaign in Salesforce and the same applies to the VT. In only one case, the name has been considered i.e. if the CampaignID doesn't exist in your instance.
