  • Email/Phone not importing on existing contacts

    We noticed a Contact who made a recent donation, did not have his email and phone on his record in Salesforce.

    New contacts who've made donations do have this info, so the broader functionality is in tact: is there a particular setting that would be impacting existing records from getting appended?

    We haven't noticed this before, so it strikes me as a new issue: our development person is pretty on top of new gifts.

    We do NOT touch existing records and never update any records. We create an alias allowing you to push the new information to the contact record and update it on a one-on-one basis.

    There is absolutely no way for an automated system to ensure the new information is accurate or valid. If someone sends a record with abbreviation or all caps or variations of the same address that may not be valid, it will corrupt your data. The chance of data corruption is quite high.

    The alias record has the information and you may simply edit and push the info to the contact record with a simple click.
