2 Letter State abbreviation

I'm trying to look at donations by state in Salesforce, month over month, and realized C&P is bringing in the full state name, which is throwing off our reports. Is there a way to import the 2 letter state code or a workaround for that? I'm ending up with X donations from NY and Y donations from New York.

Oh - there are no settings there, just the button to synchronize. Should I push that?
