  • Connect Profile Permissions Definitions

We are updating our process of managing users and to do that we would like to utilize the profile feature in the Click and Pledge connect portal fully. I've been trying to find a list of the permissions and what they do, but I cannot anywhere. Is there such a list so we can get a better understanding as to what each item gives access to and we can set up users and profiles that better suit our business needs.

    Good day @sshillieto

In Connect user profiles you may give add/read/edit/view access to the sections listed in the profile. Please review this help article: http://help.clickandpledge.com/custo...t-manage-users

Yes, I have read that article. It talks about how we can use profiles, but does not give me a breakdown of each permission and what it does. Do you have that?

Hello? Is there any update on this? The article you listed does not say what each of the permissions do when creating and updating the profiles. How am I suppose to know what access I am giving users when there is no reference as to what permissions give what access.

The permissions generally correspond to menu items in Connect. So each permission impacts that user's ability to use that area of Connect. Add/Edit/Delete/View is very similar to Create/Write/Delete/Read terminology used in other applications. The primary exception I see here is Swiper1 and GiveBig - which are products that are available outside Connect.

So the answer to your question is "no, there is no additional documentation" other than the referenced article. You have a point that if you are unfamiliar with the product, that creating the profiles could be confusing. But I imagine that applies to profiles in any software product, you would need to be somewhat familiar with the function and terminology in order to assign the correct permissions. I will put in a request that help text be added to this area.

In the meantime, you may explore the existing menu structure, and there are help texts in those areas that will familiarize you with what that area of the product does. Or you can use our Knowledge Base to search for more information for that area of the product. Or you could watch one of the Overview webinars in our Webinar Archive, located at help.clickandpledge.com..

If you have a specific type of control you'd like to assign a profile, such as 'they can record transactions like a cashier, but cannot review transaction history', let us know and we'll be glad to assist.
