Adding "additional fee" option to a custom donation page

Hello,

My org is interested in including the option to have our donors pay the credit card fees associated with their transaction, however, we do not use one of the out of the box forms. Our form is custom made for us by a developer. Is there code or process available for including this feature in custom pages?
