  • Useability Improvements on Connect Widgets

    Hi all,

With our recent infllux of gifts, we've also received an influx of complaints about the useablilty of our donation page.

    See link:
Supporters like you are critical to our success by providing the resources necessary to advance the rights of transgender and gender nonconforming people, defend our victories, and ensure our movement's strength. Thank you!

    Is the following possible:
    1) Can the widget be bigger? I couldn't find any settings for adjusting the size.
    2) Can the widget be one page?
    3) Can the chosen donation amount be displayed on the second page, as a confirmation of the amount selected on the first page?
    4) After donors complete their transaction, there is a confirmation page. Is it possible to display any donation details on that page?
    5) Any other useablity suggestions? Our inboxes and twitter feed is totally overwhelmed with complaints!

    Thanks as always!

    Hi Radha
    • Yes- the embed code for the widget can be modified to increase the size of the widget. Changes can be made to the CSS of the embed code. Be sure to include 'px' if you set a fixed width ("height: 1200px;"For example:
    <style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%;overflow: auto; -webkit-overflow-scrolling:touch; max-width: 100%; height: auto; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }</style><div class="embed-container"><iframe SRC="https://connect.clickandpledge.com/w/Organization/36325/paymentwidget/2cc42de2-b2e4-4274-9c43-9aadfd7fd2f8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
    • No- the widget was designed to accomodate a mobile screen, and needed separate steps to make it work well in that environment. The Form Builder will let you create a responsive form, that can display on any screen size, but does require scrolling in a small display. It is on a single page.
    • This is currently a feature request that is being considered.
    • No, I will add this as a feature request.
We highly recommend moving to the forms in the form builder. Widgets will eventually be deprecated as the capabilities in Form Builder grow.
