    Thanks for confirming and thanks for the quick response; I sincerely appreciate it.

    (As an intelligent person, I'd argue the definitions of "Total" and "Total Charge" are as clear as mud. Perhaps a better label would be "Installment Charge," if you're open to feedback. )

    I like the upcoming feature you mentioned of different receipts based on options selected.

    Good day AndreaF

    What you have is right.

    TotalCharge: This is what is being charged - the name implies this.
    Total: This is the total of the entire transaction.

    One thing to be aware of, in general, is that Total may become a huge number for cases that someone sets up a $200 donation indefinitely.

    In the standard receipt, for indefinite recurring we omit the Total as it will not look right.

    We will be adding a feature to the system, in a future release, where you can define different receipts based on the options selected.

    For now the answer to your question is that what you have is right.

    The definitions of these various Totals aren't really evident.

    I'm updating my receipt. Would the following be correct?
    • Total value of your monthly gift, when complete: {Total}
    • Total charged today: {TotalCharge}

    Good day!

    Please see the image. You should NOT use Total - you should use Total Charge.

    Total is the total amount that needs to be paid.
    Total Charge is what is being charged.

    Have you added this?

    I have the Total already in my receipt.

    What field will say the $ amount charged in the installment?

    Example: Donor wants to give $1000 over 3 installments. Today's gift would be $333.33, but the only place that appears is the subject line. I need the $333.33 in the message body.

    The "Total Charge" is what is being charged. The Total is the total amount that eventually is the basket total.

    Hope that answers your question.

  • 2.0 Receipt Builder - Installment gift transacted amount - URGENT

    Hello. We have donors making Installment gifts, and upon getting the receipt, they are panicking and phoning the office because it's not clear to them that only the installment amount was charged to their credit card. It appears that the total amount of the Installment was charged, instead.

    I need to update the Receipt ASAP to improve this. Which Receipt Element can I use to represent the $ amount charged today? Not the total amount of their Installment gift?

    This amount does appear in the Email Subject Line, but donors are missing that... and they feel if it's not in the Receipt & PDF itself, it didn't happen.

    Thanks.
