  • Placing a Connect Form in TEST Mode

Maybe I'm missing it somewhere but I cannto find an option to place a newly created CONNECT Form in Test mode. I'm needing to test form functionality from cradle to grave from Product / Membership selection, Contact Details, Payment Details and then want to see the transaction post to Salesforce.

In the old portal there was a function on the individual checkout page for "Active, Inactive, Test, and redirect".
The Connect Platform only seems to reflect a "Mode" option under the Campaign | Campaign Details | Basic Information | Mode - But does not offer a test option.

I already tried making this mode to Inactive but when I attempted to complete the connect form I received a "Invalid Campaign" error message upon submission.

Is there a help article that I'm missing which describes the test functionality includes using the test 4111111111111111 credit card number?

    Good day @deanrose

This option is currently NOT available but is in the works. A series of updates are in the pipeline with a number of enhancements and this request is one of them.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

So if this is not available but a requirement to test functionality prior to rollout, should I revert back to the original portal and carts for this specific deployment?

        Good day deanrose

It is up to you but the portal will be retiring next year and we do not have plans at this time to come up with a test mode for these. It is in the road map but there are many concerns for doing this in Connect given its nature.

While in the pipeline there is no ETA.

Many payment sites do not offer such test transactions for the same reason.

To chime in here, I think it would be best (and possible) to make this functionality on a form based level rather than a campaign based level. In the form builder have a section for "Transaction Mode". If it is in test mode then have a very prominent warning text notifying the user.

            Good day @Jason.Best

We will add this since others have asked for it. We just have to make sure all aspects of the system warn - for example - the receipt. The standard receipt was showing the TEST as watermark and that is not easy to do with the custom receipts. The receipt is problematic, we have had many (many) problems when people have gone live with a test mode only to blame us at the end for lost revenue.

This has been a major problem in the previous system and one that are trying to not be blamed again in the new system. However, as stated above, since it is in pipeline there is no ETA.

Any idea for a rollout time for this? I also agree to have this added on a per form basis.

I don't know what the status of this request is, so I would also like to lobby for re-instituting a "test" mode for forms. I read the comments about why it was dropped, both technical challenges and complaints from users who forgot to take a form out of test mode before publishing the link. However, I'm very uncomfortable with not being able to test a form without processing a real payment.
