My screen is a little different than yours. I think I got to the correct page. On my user in "manage users" my time zone was all ready set accurately and marked active. So this did not solve the problem. I am trying to make sure that when the public accesses our Click & Pledge pages, they are seeing the correct time zone. For example, if they are volunteering in Baltimore, the event start time should be the time it is in Baltimore not changed to the time it is in AZ.

        Good day!

In a web environment the browser has no idea where the person is located. The only information it has is the IP address and based on IP it can guess where the IP is located. Of course all this is not completely accurate under various conditions such as VPN access, etc.

Salesforce does not provide a locality identification based on the IP address. While doing this is possible but will require licensing of IP-Country-Locality databases such as IP2Location.com which we use in our core platform. Considering Salesforce is a third party application adding such a database for a multi-tenant installation may not be practical.

At this time the event management system shows the time based on the site setting in Salesforce so if you have set up the event based on your time setting then it will show that time regardless of where the computer is located.

I hope that answers the question.

So this means that all events created in event management must have the same time zone? That's a difficult assumption to work with for an organization that operates nationally. Is there any to work around this?

            Good day!

The Salesforce sites simply shows the time based on the time zone set for the page and retrieves the date/time based on the time zone for the site. We show the time zone on the page since the event that starts & ends naturally has a set time zone that applies to it. This is not a C&P constraint but one that is part of the Salesforce sites.

            Hope that answers your question.

Thanks, sorry I'm not clear on your explanation. So the time zone cannot be set differently for each event?

                Good day!

The date/time for the event is SAVED by Salesforce per the USER that is defining it. The Site may be set to show a specific time zone.

You need to be extremely careful when you do this as Salesforce's conversion from your time zone to the site and the visitor may create a bit of havoc and confusion. I highly recommend that you test this before deploying it.
