  • Additional Donation on Products Page

There is a way in the setup for Shipping & Tax to be separate opportunities. Is there a way that a donation can create a separate opportunity on an advanced checkout page from the products? I want for a person to be able to buy a membership and then also make an additional donation, but I want to track those as separate opportunities with separate record types in Salesforce. I can get the products to have separate product record types, but that isn't quite enough.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know about that setting for fees. My question is slightly different. I am wanting to know if there is a way to do the same thing for when a C&P transaction comes in with both donations & products if two separate opportunities can be created: one for donations and one for products.

        Good day Teri,

Every item in the basket is a line item and if you are NOT using Opportunity > Products, each item will create an opportunity.

Products & donations are simply line items in the basket. Products, by definition, are items with fixed price and variable quantity (in UI) and Donations are items with fixed quantity (1) and variable pricing.

When posted to Salesoforce each will become an opportunity.

If you are using Opportunity > Products then all items become products under 1 opportunity.

In release 10, due out in 4th quarter, you may choose which items may be a product, which may be opportunity, and which items should be combined in 1 opportunity based on SKU.

        Hope that answers your question.
