  • Temporary Contact - preferred phone error

    I believe there is a simple fix I'm not aware of for this. I need to process a new contact via the semi-automatic contact matching method however, I receive the following error message:

    • Preferred Phone: Please select a Preferred Phone
    • Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, Please select a Preferred Phone: [npe01__PreferredPhone__c]

    There is only phone field that gets filled in from the form. I'm curious how/why this error occurs and what the fix is.

    Good day!

    This is coming from NPSP - the application prefix is npe (npe01__PreferredPhone__c])

    I suggest you post this to the NPSP HUB in the Salesforce community. We are trying to create a contact and your validation is stopping us.

    As for the error, don't worry - once the validation is fixed our maintenance routine will fix it. Are you on the latest release?
