  • Set recurring to infinite period

I want to set up the "STEP 1 My Donation" section so that the amount and period do not end (go on without a specified end). Is this possible?

That is, can there be a recurring payment (example, Monthly) where the "period(s)" field is not shown? Or perhaps can accept a non-numeric value such as "indefinite", or be pre-populated with a large number, such as 999?

    Rich,

I am not sure I follow the question. There is no STEP 1 - My donation when you are dealing with the API. The PaaS platform is the API where you post XML from your own program.

In the API you simply post the parameter N as 999 which naturally translates to infinite number of times. Remember credit cards expire between 3-5 years on average. So any period over the expiration date is simply infinite period.

The node is in the Recurring section of the https://developers.clickandpledge.com online manual for developers.

Probably a newbie mistake concerning the right forum to post to. (Sorry.)

If I just want to learn to use the Click and Pledge "Wizard" UI to set up such an indefinite expiration (if that is even possible), which Forum should I post this question to?

The system won't allow you to set the time to infinite time. A person may naturally set the period to 999 and that will be for ever .. "almost".

Cards expire and naturally it won't work once a card expires.

        hope that answers your question.
