  • Limit Product Quantity on Checkout Page

I am trying to set up a checkout page where food vendors can pay for their vendor space at a festival, and I am running into a problem. Using the Products option, the vendor can opt for a quantity, but the quantity by definition should be limited to only one. (Ex: Saturday 8am to 8pm vending space) I can't find a way to limit it to one. And if I do it as a Donation, then the vendor can change the donation amount, which I do not want to allow them to do. Any ideas on how I can eliminate the product quantity field, or limit it to one?

Here is the page so you can see what I am trying to do...,

    Good day!

Currently that is not an option. The pages you are working on are the legacy forms and will be moved to Connect later this year.

At this time this cannot be accomplished with the catalog pages. Perhaps one thing you can do is add the spaces and limit each one to an inventory of 1.

Of course we also have an open API and if you have a developer you may want to use a custom form. Not sure if that is an option you would like to explore. We have a client services department that may also help with creating a custom form, but that is an additional fee.

Sorry can't have a solution for you as a standard feature.

Okay, I am trying another work-around. Instead of offering each product as a different day, I am using the quantity field to indicate a purchase of the vending space for multiple days. However, it seems that I cannot set it up to designate the purchase of two products with different product options, Saturday and Sunday. This would be similar to trying to buy two t-shirts in different sizes. Is this possible? Or do I have to set it up as two separate products, that is, if I want to purchase one small size and one large size of the same t-shirt, do I set them up as two different products instead of one product with two different product options?

        Good day!

Products may have options and each option may have its own inventory and offered schedule, e.g. start and end date.

Have you tried adding product options?

Yes, I did try adding product options. They did not allow me to do what I wanted.

Another question I am struggling with now is that I would like to add an additional fee calculated as a percentage at checkout to cover the cost of credit card processing fees. I understand this is possible with donations. Is it possible with products?

            Good day!

No- that is not a feature we offer since it is in violation of Visa & MasterCard merchant account contracts. Visa & MasterCard do not allow for such fees to be added - this is why you see in a lot of places they offer a discount if paid with cash but not a surcharge when using a credit card.

We may offer this in future with a disclaimer statement when enabled that we will not be responsible if the merchant account is suspended should Visa or MasterCard find the contract violation.

we understand other sites do this but they are all in violation of that agreement.
