  • Mandatory "additional information"

I am creating a free event in C&P in which registration is not anonymous. When a guest hits the "Register" button, they are required to give their First Name, Last Name and Email address. Then when they hit continue and are taken to the next page, they are required to give all of their contact info (name & billing address) as part of Additional Information. How can I make this non mandatory for a free event? I just want to require name and email address without forcing the guest to give their billing address.

    Good day!

Currently this is not possible as it is required regardless of a free or paid event.

We are working on an interim release, due out by the first week of June, that will make this optional.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

      Hi again!

I just realized that you have posted this in the general platform and not in the Salesforce group.

Are you referring to the Salesforce Event app?

          Good day!

In the latest release that is currently in AppExchange the billing address is optional and may be removed from any type of level or event.

The only required fields for named registration are first and last name for the attendee and the registrant.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you I installed the latest version and it seems to be working well.
Is it possible to add custom salesforce fields to a registration form?

If someone is only registering themselves, is it possible to not have to input your information in a second time under additional information?

                Good day!

You may want to use the anonymous registration since the form has no idea if the person registering is the same as the registrant. If it is a named registrant then the attendees may be different from the person that is making the payment. You may also have different questions for the registrant (Payee) and the attendees.

If you use the anonymous registration the names will not be asked of the attendee and it will only be asked from the registrant.

I understand the issue you are referring to but there are too many variations - one may come up with a form that does not allow for a different person to register and only allow for the questions to be asked from the registrant but again that will be the anonymous registration.

Thank you. I understand the solution you are proposing. A possible solution can be to have a check box that says "This person is the registrant"

                    Good day!

That solution has been brought up before and is being considered. The problem is when you have 20 registrants that option has to be on top of each registration page and act as the radio button or add a pull down menu to the top of the payment form to bring the information from the attendee.

It is a solution but these days, quite frankly, I don't find form typing an issue - my browser cache has all the info stored so why add to the complexity of the form when the problem's solution is natively included.

Thank you for the suggestion- we will definitely consider it.
