How long does it take to post a credit?

Two day ago a donor mistakenly posted multiple transactions on our donation page. I credited the extra transactions yesterday. The donor called this morning and said that the transactions changed from pending to cleared on his bank website. How long should I wait before investigating the credits? Should they show up today?

Once a transaction settles and is credited the credit will appear on the card holder's statement in 3-5 days based on the issuing bank's policy.

Just like a credit card transaction, credits & voids are batched at midnight, your time zone. The batches are processed immediately and submitted to the issuing banks. It is up to the bank to show the credit - after midnight settlement it is completely out of our control.
