  • Stop a recurring test payment

Every two months I get an email that's a test transaction. The data is all from when I was first testing Click & Pledge, almost a year ago. I can't find in the back end where to make this stop, although it's possible I'm looking under the wrong account; I have more than one Click & Pledge account (one for testing purposes), so maybe I'm looking in the back end for the wrong account, but I can't be sure from the email which account it's associated with.

Obviously, as a test payment, it's doing no real damage, but we'd like to shut it off.

There is an easy way to find out which checkout page this is coming from. Open the receipt and look at the bottom of the receipt. There is a long string of characters.

    For example:

    6943:26697[Friendly Demo *Do Not Delete]:Pay4|P.PV.20100512.3.044.000.005:c:4186:ur:http://xyz.com

Here is what the above means:

    Account ID: 6942
WID of the checkout page used: 26697
Name of the checkout page used: [Friendly Demo *Do Not Delete]
Server name in the cluster: Pay4
    Software release version: P.PV.20100512.3.044.000.005
    Internal code: c
Client ID (Merchant account #): 4186
    Referring URL: ur:http://xyz.com

The ReferringURL is a new feature which was made live as part of the Mobile Giving feature. The feature is not yet announced and not yet enabled in the admin but we hope to release it next Monday. For now the last string shows you where the link to the payment page is.

    Hope the above helps.

Thanks very much, that certainly de-obfuscated that string of characters!

It helped me track down which account, but unfortunately, I had used PaaS rather than any particular checkout page. Is there a place in the administration where I can view all recurring payments and stop them?

To stop a recurring payment follow the steps listed below:

        - Login to the administrative system
        - Click on Account Info
        - Click on Recurring Transaction tab
        - Use the search fields to locate the transaction
        - Scroll down and cancel the transaction

        Hope that helps.
