  • ECheck - Voiding transaction and recurring schedules via reference transactions

    Hi there,

Is it possible to void an echeck transaction?

    or

Is it possible to schedule a recurring payment using an echeck reference transaction?

One of our members signed up for a recurring membership and mistakenly didn't set his payment to recur every month. I'm wondering how best to resolve the issue and schedule his payments to recur as he intended.

    Thanks!
    Anna

    Good day @annagore:

    Replies to your question:

You asked: Is it possible to void an echeck transaction?
REPLY: eChecks cannot be voided or credited. You have to send a check to the patron directly. Our gateways don't allow such action on eChecks due to a number of constraints by the banks.

    You asked:
Is it possible to schedule a recurring payment using an echeck reference transaction?
REPLY: eChecks may be set up as recurring payments. We have a lot of clients that use this feature.

I hope the above answers your questions. Please let us know if we can be of more assistance.

      Hi there,

      Thanks for your reply.

I wanted to follow up on my question: Is it possible to schedule a recurring payment using an echeck reference transaction?

Our member forgot to indicate the payment schedule upon checkout. Is there a way that I (our you) can make the transaction recurring after it's been submitted? It doesn't appear that it's possible to do this through Virtual Terminal with EChecks.

      Thanks,
      Anna

        Good day @annagore:

Yes- eChecks may be set up as recurring transactions and you may set them up using the reference transaction in Salesforce. If you are not using Salesforce then you need to request the information from the client and set them up through the virtual terminal.

In Salesforce the reference transaction is saved and you can set the client up using an existing transaction's reference ID. See the following KB article: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/con...-in-Salesforce - while the title of the KB article is for credit cards, the same option is available for eChecks.
