Change payment name

Hi all,

Our CnP payments come into Salesforce as an opportunity with a fixed name (“My Donation”).

But, we would like is for the payment to come in as an opportunity with the same name as the person who made the payment (Temporary contact name). Does anyone know how to do this?

Good day!

The name "My Donation" is coming from the name of the item you have in your form. To do what you are trying to do is the following:

1: In the form assign an SKU to each item. It is, in general, a good practice to add SKU to each item. If you are using a classic easy page then go to the checkout page and add an SKU as shown below:



2: Go to Salesforce > C&P Settings > Opportunities > Customize Name



In the condition section you may set any filter you want and in the above screen I chose "SKU Is" and added the exact SKU.

You may do any kind of naming convention you want and each SKU may have a different naming convention. For example you may want donations to have the name of the donor in the opportunity while another type of SKU should have the name of the campaign.

Thanks so much! We want, as you said, for “donations to have the name of the donor in the opportunity”. What we actually want is for it to be DonorName_Date with date in yyyy-mm-dd format (example: Jane Doe 2013-6-27). We are wondering, then, how the “Customize Name” section would look with that naming convention? Thanks!

My last post actually showed you how to do exactly what you want. Please note that each option gives you many choices:



Each Field gives you a number of options that you may append to the name. Based on the options, open text fields, and SKU you may set opportunities with different names based on their SKU. There are infinite options and ways that you may name your opportunity.

For example:

Item SKU: Mem-Family-2013
Order #: 123456789
Date: June 28, 2013
Payment made by: John Smith

If SKU "Starts With" MEM name the Opportunity: Membership [John Smith-2013-06-28-123456789]
