  • Cancel a recurring donation

A donor accidentally put in an amount of how much they wanted to give for a year in the recurring donation field. They wanted to donate $10 a month but actually entered it to charge $120 per month. I’ve voided their recent transaction but don’t know how to cancel the recurring donation of $120. Do I have to void the transaction every month? How do I cancel the recurring donation?
    Thanks!

    Good day!

Once a transaction has been cancelled or voided it will not show up in the recurring engine and won't run in the future.

If you have cancelled it or voided it, you don't need to worry about recurring.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

I guess I credited the transaction. Is that the same as voiding? How/where do I void/cancel?

        Good day!

For all practical purposes they are the same - but yet they are different.

A void is when a transaction is "cancelled" prior to settlement. If someone makes a payment and you cancel/credit it prior to midnight the transaction will be voided. A voided transaction will NOT show up on the card holder's statement since it never settles.

A credited transaction will be credited back to the card holder's card and will appear in 3-5 days. It will show up on the statement and later a credit will show up on the statement.

To avoid confusion we simply call it CREDIT and handle it internally with the gateway. So as far as you are concerned you have done it correctly and nothing is left to worry about. If you wish to make sure that the transaction has also been removed please read the following KB article: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/con...ng-Transaction

        Hope that answers your question.
