The recurring as a special case for Autoresponder is not currently an option. It is a feature that will be in release 8 due out early March. It was scheduled to be included in the version 7, due out next week, but it was moved to 8 because of a few changes it needed and would have caused delay in the release.

Is there a way to customize the autoresponder for recurring donations?
We have a special promotion for donors signing up for recurring donations, and I wold like to send them a special receipt. I did not see an autoresponder option for this, and I don't think doing it with Campaigns is a good solution.
