  • General Questions & PaaS vs. FaaS

I have some basic questions I'd like to ask...

Is there any way to request the form information (all the fields setup within click and pledge) by sending the WID? I'd like it if our staff could setup the form on your website using your tools, and then we can request that information and display it within our own website.

I can successfully process payments using the PaaS system, but i'm wondering why I wouldn't just use the FaaS system.. I don't really understand the difference between the two API's.. Is it just the receipt ?

When using PaaS, I guess the only option I really have is to setup a form and use the variables entered into the form to generate an XML to post to the PaaS API.. What happens to the extra fields a user adds? Do you store them in your database for our reporting needs or do we need to be storing that information?

    Thanks for your support,
    -Jason

    Good day.

Answers to your questions follow your text:

You asked: "Is there any way to request the form information (all the fields setup within click and pledge) by sending the WID? I'd like it if our staff could setup the form on your website using your tools, and then we can request that information and display it within our own website."

Reply: No- frankly not sure what this will be good for. it is much easier to create your form and post it to the FaaS engine.

Reply: FaaS (Forms as a Service) is nothing but a processor for the PaaS platform. Our primary API is the PaaS service but since more developers are not familiar with XML and SOAP we developed the FaaS forms processor so forms simply post to us and we change the post to XML and submit it to our API. FaaS is an intermediary designed for simplicity.

Reply: We store everything except credit card information & CV2. All other form fields and their respective values are treated as custom questions and will be saved and posted to Salesforce if you are using it.

I hope I have answered all your questions. Please let us know if we can be of more assistance.

So the API just serves as a method of processing payment (seemingly from your own site). It doesn't necessarily tie into your other functionality such as building check out pages or managing campaigns correct?

      Thanks,

        Jason,

The API is for processing payments. It is used by people to process payments and utilize all of our integration using their forms or backend programs.

There is no reason to manipulate a form when you can create the form as easily and post it to us for processing.
