  • Logo in Designer not being displayed when sent and website link doesn't work

    Good morning,

I participated in the office hours webinar with Kamran yesterday. He told me to post the logo problem here. I created an email template named Thank You in the Designer. I included a logo in the header. The recipients of the email do not get the logo. Also, the link to our website doesn't work. Kamran said that you would be able to pass through to our instance and fix this. That would be fantastic! I granted login access to C&P a few days ago for another problem so you should have access. If you need me to provide any additional information, just let me know.

    Thank you for your help!

    Good day!

We reviewed your instance & noticed that your site was not active.

We activated the site and it is working now. We did a test and all works as expected.

      Hello,

It is still not working. When I go to the Designer and select "Test Mail" the logo is sent and the recipient can see it. When I create a transaction using the Salesforce Virtual Terminal and that causes the Autoresponder to send an email, the recipient does NOT receive the logo. The link at the bottom of the email, www.kadampa-center.org, does NOT work in either of these cases. I have approx 50 transactions that are scheduled to post tomorrow so the Autoresponder emails will be sent. If anyone is there right now, I sure would appreciate your help before that happens.

Also, can you please tell me what Site you were referring to that was not Active? I'm brand new and trying to learn.

      Thank you!

I just posted a reply explaining that the logo is still not displaying when the Autoresponder sends the email (vs using Test Mail in the Designer). I don't know if it helps to know this but I am able to create a mass email in Salesforce and the recipients can see the logo. So, I'm thinking it's something that I probably didn't setup correctly in Autoresponder.

        Thanks for your help!

          Good day!

We reviewed the case & realized that there is an issue with named instances in Salesforce with Spring '15 release which is causing the issue with the image.

For now we changed the URL for the image to be served from your site, the same image you have on your website. The email will work now.

We are working on a fix in the next release due out later this week. Sorry for the inconvenience but your donors will simply see the image from the site rather than Salesforce so no difference will be seen.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

I just tested the autoresponder email and yes, the logo is now being displayed - thank you! In my original post, I also mentioned that the website link was not working. Unfortunately, that is still not working. If I click on www.kadampa-center.org (at the bottom of the letter), nothing happens. Can you please help me with that too or do I need to open a new post?

              Good day!

The issue you are reporting has to do with adding a hyperlink in the body of the message. We fixed it for you but all you had to do was to select the text and click on the hyperlink icon in the editor and add http://www.kadampa-center.org - you need to make sure to add http:// at the beginning as the Salesforce editor does not recognize a link without the http:// prefix.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you for your continued help! I am new to C&P. I used the C&P Designer - General - Acknowledgment template. The website address in that template is shown as www.website.com so I just revised that for our organization. The text at the bottom of the C&P Designer page states, "
                • Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically."

The email address link that I revised for our organization worked automatically so I thought the web page address link would as well.

It's working now and I learned how to add links myself so, I'm good. You may want to revise the C&P template to reflect the need for http:// or remove the misleading text at the bottom of the template so others are not confused too.

                Thanks again!

                  Good day!

Yes that is true and you are right that they should appear as links in email but for that to happen you need to type the URL as http://www.kadampa-center.org so the email client knows it is a URL. Email clients (Outlook, GMail, Yahoo, etc.) all treat email addresses & web site address as hyperlink by default but for the website to appear as such you need to make sure to add http:// at the beginning. In your case you had entered only www.kadampa-center.org so the email client was not treating it as a URL therefore not adding a hyperlink for it.

                  I hope that helps.
