  • C&P and SquareSpace

I'm looking to go from a custom-coded website to something built using SquareSpace and I'm wondering if anyone has experience using C&P with SquareSpace. I love using C&P and having the integration with Salesforce, so that's something I definitely wouldn't want to give up. SquareSpace seems to be the hands-down leader in the website-building space so I just want to make sure that C&P plays nice with it before getting to work on the new site. Any and all feedback is welcome! Thanks

    Good day!

Have you considered using Connect widgets & add it as iframe to the SquareSpace? The Connect widgets are designed for that very purpose to be universal. The full integration with Salesforce + Connect's ability to be a social platform would be of great value to your new site.

Thanks for that suggestion. I will certainly explore this option first but haven't had many positive experiences using iframe in the past, specially as it carries across browsers/devices/platforms. What would be some other option you recommend possibly using FaaS or PaaS? I'd like to explore a few options fully before settling on the best one.

        Good day!

We are neutral on what sites our clients use. There are only so many options you have regardless of the path you choose:
        1. Links to donation form: A link may be placed to your payment forms and Connect site
        2. IFrame: Our widgets may be iframed. Since we don't use cookies the iframe may be used anywhere and no browser has issue with it. If we used cookies then Safari and Opera would have problem since they block 3rd party cookies by default.
        3. Custom form: You may use our open API and create your own forms - examples: http://clickandpledge.com/faas

Other than the above there are no other options available anywhere. One either links to it, creates it natively, or iframes an external source.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thanks for the detailed response. It is good to know that there are so many options and I am eager to explore them all more in depth. I currently use a custom form (FaaS) and am wondering if using a website builder, such as SquareSpace, causes any known issues with this type of donation solution. That is actually what my initial post set out to answer but I am glad that you have provided so much additional information.

You all at C&P are the best!

            Good day!

Yes- FaaS forms are simply HTML forms. They work anywhere.

If you need help let us know. I am not familiar with SquareSpace but have watched videos about their site builder- it is quite nice.

I am sure they have a way to add HTML to a page. If you set it up and have issues let us know and we can review it. Should not be too hard to figure out.

I am actually working on a custom form also within Squarespace using copy and pasted code from our main donation page (we are creating a stand-alone campaign site) and can't seem to figure out why I am getting an error. The donation page is at waygay40.org/donate1 and is currently in test mode but keeps returning with the "restriction violation" error and I can't figure it out.

                  Good day @BJones,

Please go to: Portal > Account Info > API Information > Allowed URL (see below)

Name:	2015-06-10_14-18-20.jpg
Views:	347
Size:	128.3 KB
ID:	17500

The error you are seeing is telling you that the allowed URL which you have listed here is not the one that is posting to us. By limiting the post URL no other site but the ones listed can post to your account.

What do you have in there and what is your form's URL? Do they match?

Awesome. I actually figured out a couple of things including adding the url of the site to that list as well as making sure that the site was processing through https. I actually changed it over to production and it will process the payment, but does not redirect to the success url. I have updated the code and changed it back to test, but can't figure out why it's not redirecting properly.

                      Good day!

                      Is your SSL valid?

I just tested it and appears to have an invalid key.

It doesn't matter what url goes there, it doesn't redirect to anything. You can use the url without the ssl as just http://waygay40.org/donation-success and it still won't redirect event though the donation goes through.
