Recurring creates separate Opportunities

I think I know the answer but I wanted someone else to confirm that...

With a recurring C&P transaction, each installment (payment) will create a separate Opportunity in Salesforce and it is not possible to have all payments go under the original/first Opportunity.

No that is not possible since each payment is an opportunity.

Please note that you may want to credit a transaction and as such we credit the existing opportunity. If we were to create a single opportunity we would need child objects to track each payment and we rather stay with native Salesforce as much as we can.
