  • Capture CC details at event check-in

    Good morning,
My client (who has been using Salesforce.com for several years but is new to C&P PaaS) has the following business process that we'd like to accommodate:

At an upcoming event check-in, they'd like to swipe attendees credit card (using USB card swiper or swiper1's), not charging anything initially, simply storing the cc details for purchases and donations made during the event.

After the event, they would like to use stored cc details to charge the person for donations/purchases made or discard cc details (if no purchases were made).

What process can you outline using PaaS and Salesforce.com?

    Thanks,
    Calista

C&P Support - can I get a response on this? Or request for more detail?

    Thanks,
    Calista

      @Calista,

I am including the final interaction here so this post is complete.

As discussed through the support chat this feature is not available in the Virtual Terminal in release 7.x and will be added in release 8.x due out the first week of December 2013.

The eVT supports this feature and it works with the Auctions for Salesforce. The Virtual Terminal has never had feature.

Sorry for the inconvenience but in 2 weeks you should be able to use it.

Hello - in this string you make the following statement:

        .
Just to clarify - this is the 'three track card reader' available to customers using TransFirst merchant accounts, right? Is there any way to get Swiper 1 to work with eVT and/or Auctions?

        Thanks,

        Louise

          Hi Louise,

Swiper1 is a mobile device and has nothing to do with the eVT. eVT is designed to be part of the Salesforce implementation and for third parties to incorporate a payment form into their applications.

At this time Auctions for Salesforce does not incorporate Swiper1. We are working on integrating the Auctions in our Event application in 2014. We will keep you posted.

As for the 3 track card reader- yes you may use the one purchased through Transfirst or you may purchase one from Amazon. It is any USB-3 track credit card reader.
