How Can I get SalesForce Individual Record updated with new address or email address?

    Good day @dgoodkin,

    This behavior is by design. We do not update or change any of your records since we have no idea if the data is valid or not. We always create an Alias for the different information. If a contact is merged with an existing contact and the new information is different from the existing record we simply create an alias for the new information.

    Do you have the Alias field as related list showing up for the contact? See image below:

    Once you click on the Alias ID you will see the screen for updating the main contact information:

    Using the above screen you may update the Contact records with the new Alias information. We give you the control to update the primary information.

    All the new information may also be kept as an alias so all future transactions may match the contact or the alias record. If the information is found in either of contact or alias it will not go to the Temporary Contact.

  • How Can I get SalesForce Individual Record updated with new address or email address?

    When I get a donation through C&P and a temporary contact is created because either the address or email is different, how can I get the individual's record to get updated with the new contact information? When I select the individual to merge the temporary record with, then the old address or email is still there.
