  • Donations Not Rolling Up in Salesforce

My donations are posting correctly and all is working well, with the exception of donations rolling up for organizations/contacts in the usual Salesforce way. I've dug around but haven't found too much documentation on the matter.

I am using the NPSP and recently came across a support video advising those using the NPSP to adjust the C&P settings to not create a new account for new contacts and not assign contact roles. I made this change, and it surely helped with avoiding duplicate organization creation, but it didn't do anything for the rollup issue.

Can you please advise as to how I can have future donations roll up? Also, can you advise on how I can go back and get previous donations to roll up as well? Thanks! This would be a huge help since the rollup feature is very useful.

I am also experiencing this issue. I wrote to Click & Pledge support and they wrote back: "We are aware of the post [this one -sxn] and one of our developers will be looking into this on January 2nd."

      Good day!

Are you using Opportunity or Opportunity Products?

Honestly, I am not too sure but I think I am somehow using Opportunity Products. Now when I manually enter a donation it prompts me to enter product information before posting the donation and that did not used to happen before.

I have tried looking up some support documentation for Opportunity Products but have not come up with anything helpful.

I appreciate your help in getting this figured out.

          OK.. that explains a lot.

You have enabled Opportunity / Products. With this option all items are being added as products and not opportunities. I am not sure how NPSP treats Products since I know everything in NPSP is based on Opportunities.

If you are not using Products then you should not have this option enabled.

In "C&P Settings" there is an option for Products in the create opportunities. If the following option in Salesforce has been enabled then C&P Settings should also be enabled. The following is an image of C&P Settings (Please note that your screen will look different since you are using release 5.x - the image I show below is from release 6.0 due out next week (January 7, 2013) - in Release 5.x the option is in a different section of the Opportunity tab but the behavior is the same.

Thank you so much for clarifying this! I went ahead and disabled the option in Salesforce and made sure it was disabled in C&P too. So I take it this should solve the problem moving forward, but what can I do to get the transactions that already posted under these conditions to roll up?

I'm going back through all my Contacts, Organizations, Donations and C&P Transactions to make sure that donations are correctly linked to the appropriate donors and with the appropriate roles. Should this be enough? It seems to have corrected the problem at least in part thus far.

Can't wait for 6.0 You guys are doing an amazing job!
