How to handle form validation

Hello.


I need information to set up ClickAndPledge Forms-as-a-Service on BuyingPoultry.com.


The donation form is live on the site at the link below:

I understand you pass form validation errors back in the URL so I need to parse the error from that to display error messages. I'm not sure how to do this.
Is there a programmer there who can walk me through this process?

we truly try not to get into custom programming as it will create issues with debugging, etc. The references should help you since the idea is quite simple.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have the error messages working to some degree, but after Firstname and Lastname, the next error message that shows is Cardnumber even though all the fields are required.

1. Does something need to be revised on your end to pass the missing errors in the URL?
2. Is there a way to display all the errors for a given form submission?
3. Is there a way for us to style the error messages?

The errors are reported as they cause issues. Only one error is reported at a time.

There is nothing that need to be activated in our system to show error. The first error that is detected will be passed to the URL.

Hi again.

You answered one of my questions (re. only one error being reported at a time), however 2 questions remain.

1. If you leave any of the form fields empty from 'Phone Number' through 'Name on Credit Card' no errors are returned. Why isn't your system passing those errors to the URL?
2. Is there a way for us to style the error messages?

Those fields are not mandatory. The minimum information you may pass for a credit card authorization is shown in the following form:

https://www.clickandpledge.com/developers/faas/example/Base/

First name & last name are required and we return error. Please visit the above example and remove the first and last name and click on SUBMIT and you will see the error.

There is nothing to format since we pass the error in URL. It is up to you to read the URL and show the error message. I am not sure what you mean by formatting the error since it is an encoded URL. There is no other way to post the message in the URL string.
