Calling page from non-secure page

I'd like to test my donation page at

http://www.georgearcherfoundation.org/donationpage.html

It works fine in Test mode, but when I change it to Production mode and submit a donation I get tossed to the error page. Is this because I'm calling the donation page from a non-secure page while I wait for my hosting service (Godaddy.com) to set up my security certificate today?

If that's not the reason, how can I troubleshoot the donation page to find out what's wrong? If it is the reason, is there a way to confirm that the page is working properly before my security certificate is put in place?

The error page redirect has the error message in its URL.

I just tried to test the page but the result is being posted as an email. Please set it to post to the https://faas.cloud.clickandpledge.com so we can test it.

If the page is not on a secure page you will get an Error. The page will only process in PRODUCTION mode when it is in SSL mode.

Thanks. I changed the posting so it goes to faas.cloud.clickandpledge.com again. You answered my question about why I'm getting an error message.

Since I need to capture donation info tomorrow and I'm not sure my hosting service is going to come through with the certificate before then, what do you suggest I do? I'm inclined to do a little mailto: routine to email me the donation info. I know it's not secure but I don't anticipate more than a couple of transactions before the security certificate is in place.

I can't leave the donation page in test mode since it will reject real credit card #'s and if I leave it in production mode then it's going to fail each time.

Remember you are accepting credit cards. We can't possibly allow real credit cards to be transmitted through an insecure channel - so I hope you realize the reason for this restriction.

We provided the testing mode through insecure posts to help developers with their testing and since the only credit card allowed through TEST mode is the 4111 card no secure information is being exposed.

The suggestion that I can give you is to simply use a Classic page until the SSL key is set up. Once it is setup then change the link to this page. It is easy to have a checkout page setup and running. It will take you less than 5 minutes to have one up and running.

Will that not work for the interim?

Thanks. I created a Classic checkout page and will use that for a day or two. That's a good solution, though I hate to deliver a donation page that is so different than the rest of the site. But at least it works!
