  • Passing Part of Form Submission to Click & Pledge

    Hi,

Our client would like to be able to have a simple clickable form similar to the one that says "Give Where Needed Most" on http://www.heifer.org just above the footer.

From a technical perspective we're wondering if it's possible to pass the donation amount from that form on the website to a Click & Pledge donation form via GET or POST. For example, we can send the user to example.org/form?donation_amount=50, but we weren't sure if you could use that variable on your end to automatically fill in the donation amount. It's worth noting that we don't want the entire form to exist on the client's website and we'd prefer visitors don't have to enter credit card info until they land on Click & Pledge.

Please let me know if that's possible and if so, can you send me documentation on how to set up the URL correctly with your system?

    Thanks.

    Jonathan

    Good day!

Since you have posted this message in the FaaS channel the question is being answered as one dealing with the API.

The FaaS forms allow you to create any custom forms and do whatever you want. Naturally the amount may be passed in the URL if you are designing the form using the FaaS API form.

You also stated that you do not want the form to reside on the client's servers which then makes me wonder how you are planning to design the FaaS form. A FaaS form, being an API form, needs to be designed and hosted somewhere.

We have a client services department that can design a form with the exact specifications and host it on our servers. The form may be designed to read the amount from the URL.

I am not sure I have answered your question.

Thanks for getting back to me. Hopefully I can take a moment and explaining a little more in depth. I'm not sure if your FaaS platform is the best approach. I only wrote here since you're support team told me to.

We would like to build a form directly on the client's website using our own form builder, and pass only the donation amount to a form on Click & Pledge's website. Do you all have a system to allow for that?

        Good day!

Currently you cannot do this as the Connect widgets are set up for being iframed and iframe forms cannot have their reference URL, which is embedded in the site, changed by the parent URL.

The only solution I can think of is a custom form being designed to do this.

            Hi,

I wanted to follow up on this since we haven't heard back in a while. Can you give us more detail of how a custom form can be built to do this?

            Thanks.

              Good day!

Sorry but I thought this question was already answered.

We do not support a form that passes to us only the amount. If you wish to create a complete API form then you may use our API to build a form: Please see: https://ClickandPledge.com/FaaS

There are examples and the API link for forum field names. This is a complete donation form including all form fields. This requires the site to be secured and post to us for processing.

You may want to attend office hour if you wish to brainstorm on solutions. I cannot think of any other solution but you designing the complete donation form as shown in the examples on our site per the above link.
