  • Tracking Requests / AccountToken

I have a couple questions. I believe they are both related though.

    1) What is the AccountToken field for? How does this work?
    2) I want to be able to save the information to a database, submit it to you with a unique identifier, and then on success or failure get the unique identifier back so I can look up the information. How can this be done?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Jeff;

1: What do you mean by AccountToken? I am not sure where we have such a field?

2: Have you seen our basket system? http://help.clickandpledge.com/HTMLD.../Default30.htm

Please review the basket system and let me know if you have any questions. The unique ID you are referring to may be accomplished through the I parameter.

Check the I parameter description in the above link.

I looked at your basket system. I am not so much looking for a shopping cart. What I am talking about is from the example given by your support pages. The following link will take you to the example page I am using that I got from your support site. You can see from that what I mean by AccountToken I believe.

      Thanks,

      Jeff Hoffelner

        Jeff,

Please refer to: [Account Information section]

The AccountToken is a shortcut for sending a number of account related information that the form requires. It comes handy if you want to use one form and process donations for various accounts.

Since it is assumed that the developers using FaaS are not programmers we had to come up with a way to allow a single form to process donations for multiple accounts. Here is an example:

We have many clients that have many accounts, each for a different department or activity. For example think of universities or political parties. In the case of a political party you may have a Political Action Committee (PAC) and a Foundation all within the same organization. Donations to the PAC are not tax deductible but donations to the Foundation are. So a radio button may be used to identify the account. The radio button value needs to include: Account ID, Account GUID, and WID for the account. Since web developers are not programmers it may not be easy for them to write a program that passes the information needed through a radio button.

Account information may be combined through AccountToken.

AccountToken format is as follows: AccountToken: AccountGuid/AccountID/WID/Tracker

If you are using a single account you don't need AccountToken and use the individual fields instead as shown in the manual.

        hope that helps.

Thanks, that helps clarify the account token question. The other question I have is I want to be able to store all this information into our own database, do the post, and then retreive the information on the success page. This means I need to be able to pass my own ID in some way and then get that ID back on the success page. How can this be done?

            Jeff,

Currently FaaS does not pass an internal parameter in the response URL. It is a good idea .. Let me see what we can do - we may be able to add it as part of an update scheduled for Sunday. I will get back to you shortly.

              Jeff,

You are the first to hear of Release 1.12. We just added a new feature in addition to the eCheck which will be announced as part of the same release.

              The new hidden variable: RefID

Whatever value you pass for RefID will be passed back to you as part of the URL for all pages: Authorize, Decline, and Error.

Please test it and let us know. The internal test passed all conditions and we are now live with it. It will be helpful if you report your results as well so we can have confirmation.
