  • Enable Salesforce AutoResponder & disable default C&P invoice email

    Hi there,

I would like to only enable the AutoResponder that I have created using the C&P Designer on Salesforce, however it still sends out the Click & Pledge Invoice after a successful test donation.

I have already checked the 'Send When' conditions and according to the transferred C&P Data it should actually be triggered.

Any ideas on how to go forward with this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best,
    manuel

    Good day!

A point of confusion around the "Do Not Send Receipt" is the copy that the organization receives. The "Do Not Send Receipt" only applies to the donor and not the organization.

The organization always gets a copy of the receipt for its records. The donor will NOT get a copy if that option has been checked. Salesforce autoresponder will be sent if all conditions match.

Do you know if the Donor is getting the receipt or are you judging it based on the email you get as the organization?

Alright, so I have ticked the box Do Not Send Receipt - which solves the problem of sending the default invoice to the donor.

It's fine if we as the organization get a copy.

Our donation form is still in test mode, so I just made a donation with dummy data. Unfortunately my AutoResponder (created in Salesforce) still doesn't send.

I have set the following conditions:
      - C&P Account number
      - Payment Method: Credit Card & all supported cards checked
      - Payment Status: Authorized
      - Checkout Page WID: %our wid%
      - Payment Amount: Greater than 1
I deleted all the other default conditions..

Could it be that it doesn't send because it's still in Test Mode?

        Good day!

It is hard to know what the issue is based on the information provided. The best way to figure out what is going on is let me know the answers to the following questions:
        1. In Salesforce: check C&P Data and see if there are any errors posted - is the Status = 1 or 0? If an error has occurred the status will be 0 and the error message will be displayed
        2. C&P Temporary Contact: If the contact is in the C&P Temporary Contact no action will take place until the contact is a "real" contact. When in Temporary Contact no contact has been created and as such no Autoresponder can be sent.
Test transactions will trigger the Autoresponder. If no Autoresponder is being sent there must be an issue and knowing the above will help us narrow down the issue.

          Hello again.

          Regarding your suggestions:
          1. The status = 1
          2. The contact is created because we have set up the Fully-Automatic (1:1) contact creation.

I have granted access to our Salesforce account, so I would appreciate you looking further into this issue.

          Thanks!

              Good day!

We reviewed your setting and noticed that most of the donations are recurring but the Autoresponder was not set to send with recurring donations. Recurring is one of the sending conditions and if not set it will not work.

We activated it for you and did a test and the autoresponder was sent out successfully.

Please test and let us know if you experience any other issues.

Thanks a lot for this. I have now set up two separate Autoresponders, one for recurring and one for one-time payments.

Unfortunately the default Click & Pledge Receipt is still sending to the donor, even though the 'Do Not Send Receipt' option is ticked.

Is there anything regarding this I might have overlooked?

                  Good day!

I reviewed your accounts and both accounts # 27767 & 27778 [Skateistan HQ & US] are set NOT to send the receipt to the donor.

The organization will always get a copy of the system receipt but the donor will not get a copy. Have you tested this yourself with 2 different emails? Please note that you as the organization will always get a copy of the receipt.

                    Hi there,
I just did another test. The test donor email address is different to the administrative Salesforce email address. I got both the organization copy and also the receipt for the donor. So it is still sending it! Any other ideas why this could be?

                      Strange!

What donation form are you using? Please post the link to your form that is used for accepting payments/donations.

I have figured it out! There was a hidden field in the form <input type="hidden" name="SendReceipt" id="SendReceipt" value="false" /> which was set to true!
After setting it to false the receipt didn't get sent to the test donor any longer!

                        Thanks for your help anyways!

                          Great!

If you are using the FaaS form you have a node that will have priority over the admin setting.

Glad to see it is working now.
