Mailchimp Integration

In Mailchimp we have a List, and in that List there is a Group, and in that Group there are Group Options. When someone signs up they select which group options they would like to receive newsletters about.

For example:

The options "Community Programs and Events" and "World Affairs Council" are both group options. How would we embed a code for that in a form that would sign someone up when they make a purchase? And, separate question, how would you do this in Event Manager?

Here is what I am not sure of since we have never tested Groups. I am not sure if you need to use the Mailing List name for the subscription and then the user receives the confirmation email from MailChimp giving them the option to select a group or not. I am interested to find out how groups work.

It didn't work. I can't even get it to go into our mailchimp account at all. Do I have the correct settings?

I guess I did not tell you the entire story thinking that you have done that already.

- Portal > Account Info > Third Party > eNewsletter

have you enabled MailChimp and setup the API key?

Also the name of the newsletter has to match exactly what you put in the code.

Have you set up the API key and integration as described above?

No- Events is not integrated for newsletter subscription. It is a feature that can be added in the future.

I was not sure if it works for groups.

Please create a simple list and use that exact name.

I know it works since we communicated with another client that wanted to use it and it works for them.

Ok, so I was just now able to get the subscriber to pass into a List, but we really need to be able to get it into a group. I'm sure this must be a common request for mailchimp users. Can it be done?

Glad to see that it works per our design.

I am not sure the MailChimp API supports subscription to the group. We have to double check. Anything can be done since programming is nothing but typing but it is a matter of timing.

We are now in the middle of a major development and release of Connect & Salesforce so diverting attention to this is a bit low priority. It is the first time we have heard of this request. I will see what we can do to help.
