  • Cards declined in production mode

    Hi. We tested a couple of cards in production mode that went through successfully, but wanted to continue to test before sending to donors. Additional cards were declined. The test card (4111111111111111) works successfully when in test mode. Are we getting declined because of repeated transaction in close succession?

    Good day!

    If in Production mode you will trigger the fraud system if fraud is enabled for the WID you are using. As you know each form uses a reference WID (checkout page). If FRAUD is enabled for the page then repeated attempts will block various attributes of your transaction and all future transactions will be trapped and blocked.

    In TEST mode fraud will not be checked and that is why we always recommend (per manual) that you use Test mode for testing and only test once in production.

    In Production the 4111 card number will decline and in Test mode the "real" credit card numbers will decline.

    If your live transactions are being declined please let us know your account number so we can review the information trapped in our fraud database. By the way, if in the fraud database, all your future transactions regardless of where, when, and how will be declined.

      Hi. It's a good security feature. We just wanted to be thorough in testing. Our Click & Pledge acct # is 26831.

        Hi;

        We removed all incidents of fraud listing from your account. Please do not test when in Production since it creates a trail of blocks for all aspects of your account & transactions.

        You had used invalid emails, different names, and other variations which all are signatures of fraud attempts.

        When in Test mode the system behaves exactly as the Production mode except that it does not process real cards and will not check for fraud. If you wish to test repeatedly in the Production mode, it is best to disable Fraud for your checkout page (WID) so you don't trigger the fraud service.

        Glad to see all is working - please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

          Hello,

          We actually did the exact same thing (we didn't know how to use test mode...which is how I came to this thread). We haven't been declined yet but I'd like to go ahead and clear the fraud database to be safe if possible. Our acct. is 28294.

          Also, could you please direct me to documentation on using test mode? Does the checkout page that the WID directs to also need to be in test mode or just the api in the form?

          Thanks!

            Good day!

            The fraud database is a global database and not account specific. If you find problem with a transaction please let us know and we can investigate it.

            You may want to Whitelist your IP or any emails that you are using for testing through the portal:
            • Login to the https://Portal.ClickandPledge.com
            • Click on Account Info
            • Click on 3rd Party
            • Click on Fraud Services (see below)
            • Add your IP's that you are using for internal testing.

            click to enlarge
            Fraud Services

            If you are running transactions on behalf of clients it is best to use the Virtual Terminal instead of a checkout page. The VT does not monitor for fraud and allows repeated transactions.

            In FaaS if you are testing it is best to change the OrderMode to Test. Please see: http://manual.clickandpledge.com/For...tml#Order_Mode

            OrderMode=Test

            I hope the above helps with your development. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
