  • Discount fields not passed to opportunity record

When a purchaser applies a discount to a purchase, the resulting C&P Transaction record contains the discount (Discount and Transaction Discount Charge fields), as well as the Total Charged, which is the discounted amount. When the transaction is mapped into the Salesforce opportunity/donation, the Amount is the un-discounted amount and the Discount information is not available.

For example, the item costs $75, the discount is $70, the credit card is charged $5. In the C&P Transaction, Discount = 70, Transaction Discount Charge = 70, Total Charged = 5. But in the Salesforce opportunity/donation record, Amount is $75, and the discount information is not available in any field that is accessible. How can I make the discount information accessible in the Salesforce record so I can report on it?

    Good day!

Please grant us login access so we can review your account. It seems like the discount is not being passed to your Salesforce. What is the Order Number also so we can review the C&P Data.

Was there any resolution to this thread? We are also experiencing this same issue in our Org. I can see the data exists within the C&P Data record:

        <CouponCode>mycoupon</CouponCode>
        <TransactionDiscountDue>15.00</TransactionDiscountDue>
        <TransactionDiscountCharge>15.00</TransactionDiscountCharge>

But the opportunity was created with the non-discounted amount. Ideally, the opportunity would be created with the actual amount charged (after discounts were applied). Also, it would be great to have access to these <CouponCode> and <TransactionDiscountDue> fields within the custom question mapping section, so that the values could be mapped to custom fields within the Opportunity record.

        Thanks for your assistance!

          Good day @RiverNetwork,

We have added the request to the list of new features to be included in a future update.

The idea of including the Gross or Net as the opportunity has been brought up before and in release 10.x we will be including this as an option. Typically accountants do not want numbers to include discounts, etc. as the deductions are typically accounted for differently. This is the reason why we have the discount as a separate field in the Opportunity record. There is also a setting in the C&P Settings > Opportunity that will create a negative opportunity for discount.

As stated this feature will be included as option in release 10.x due out in 2016-Q1 so those that wish to use it can simply check the box.

          Hope that answers the question.

I'm glad to hear that this feature will be supported in 10.x. Can you say a bit more about what this will look like in Salesforce? Will the Salesforce donation have positive and negative payments? Or will the discount be available in a field mapping? And how will it work for cart discounts (in which the discount is applied to a cart with multiple SKUs)? Thank you.

We are having the same problem with products with flexible pricing. Would this be related?
