  • Problem with Custom Question Mapping

    We have a WooCommerce setup, and I'm having trouble getting a custom question mapped from the front end to Salesforce. The question on the checkout page appears as "Yes, add me to the Directory" with a checkbox. I've tried several C&P Custom Question Maps, but they don't seem to work. Webpage and custom question attempts are attached. Click image for larger version

    Is the question = "Yes, add me to the Directory"? I tried matching on an answer of TRUE, 1, and even tried leaving answer blank for any answer, but that didn't work. So the question must be wrong. Any ideas on how to get the correct mapping?

    Good day!

    The best way to figure out why this is not working is to look at the C&P Data for the transaction. The custom questions are shown in a node with the question and answer listed as separate nodes.

    The #1 reason that maps don't work is because of the question being added to the mapping area is NOT exactly the same characters as the question posted in the C&P Data.

    If you grant us access and give us an order # we can review the post and let you know why. You may also join our office hours and work live with screen sharing so we can review your setting.

    I am sure the issue is the question is not added exactly as it is in the C&P Data.

      I looked at the C&P Data and I see items such as:

      <CustomField>
      <FieldName>Membership (pa_pricing)</FieldName>
      <FieldValue>name-your-price</FieldValue>
      </CustomField>

      Is this what you are referring to, for the question "Membership (pa_pricing)"? If so, I do not see any question that would correspond to the question on the website that I want to map. How should I instruct the web developer to pass another custom question to C&P?

        I am having a similar problem ..... trying to get my custom questions listed somewhere that I can use the answers. They do not show on C&P reports, then I created fields in contact to hold info - thought I mapped them to the fields in contact but that did not work. Created new fields in salesforce opportunities to hold information - then Tried mapping to the opportunity that did not work. I looked at the C&P data for the transaction and the custom questions and the answers are not there. Plz help

            Good day @SNesson,

            We have searched for your information in the help desk and don't have any information from you regarding the administrative login. Please submit a support ticket at http://help.clickandpledge.com with your site's information as well as administrative login so we can review your settings. The membership directory question needs to be a custom question and is not currently set up that way. Once we have access to your account we can show you what is going on and fix it for you.

                    Good day!

                    We have investigated the issue at length and have finally figured out what is going on.

                    You are using the "WooCommerce Product Add-ons" which is a third party plugin. This plugin is NOT the native WooCommerce and not supported by our integration. 3rd Party plugins are all paid plugins that are act outside the standard WooCommerce.

                    In the Sandbox provided by your team this plug-in is not installed and we can't test how it works. As stated we are not aware of this plugin but are open to offering integration if they allow 3rd party integrations.

                    At this time we are stuck .. if you can install the plugin in your sandbox instance we can try to integrate with it.

                          I just did a quick test of $0 transaction and it didn't come through to Salesforce. Just want to double check on the version of the WooCommerce Click & Pledge Gateway. The version on our staging site is 1.3.5. The release notes say 1.3.6. Do we need to upgrade to 1.3.6? Problem could be on our end. I will double check that we have made the >= change in WooCommerce to post the transaction.

                            I have confirmed that our test did include the >= change to the needs_payment function in the WooCommerce plugin, so something still isn't working to allow the $0 transaction.

                            Please advise on whether we should upgrade to a more recent version of the WooCommerce C&P gateway (1.3.6, or the latest, 1.3.8).

                            By the way, Suzanne made a good suggestion to include in the release notes the name of the file in the WooCommerce plugin that needs to be edited (contains needs_payment): It's plugins/woocommerce/includes/class-wc-cart.php.

                              Have you tested the sandbox you had created for us to test with? We installed it in there.
