  • Registration Page with Optional Donation

We have a page https://www.jstart.org/read-for-the-record/signup/ all set up to take registrations, with optional book orders or donations. However, even after trying a dummy product with {SKIPIF0}, conditionally hiding the Credit Card info section, and trying to use the Custom Payment option, I can't get it to just allow a $0 transaction to happen without someone entering CC information. How can we make this happen?

    Thanks

I've submitted the ticket, though as I added in the ticket I don't have FTP access to our host, it is a clustered environment and we don't have that level of access. It shouldn't be that sort of issue - I just need more clear directions on how to make a $0 "charge" process using the CnP/Gravity Forms tools, and the documentation doesn't seem to cover that (at least, other than the "Other"/SKIPIF0 option that doesn't seem to be working).

      Thanks

If possible please provide the website details so that we can review and point you in the right direction where you are doing wrong.

Here is manual which also helps you: http://manual.clickandpledge.com/Gra...r”_is_selected

https://www.jstart.org/read-for-the-record/signup/ is the form we are having issues with, and I have looked over and tried to apply that part of the manual and it didn't work out, that is the core of the problem.

I can get you a temporary login to our site in the coming week if you want to look at details from that end. The question is basically how to set up a SKIPIF0 on a form more complicated than the one in your example - we have multiple fields tallying up to the total, your example is built around the most simple donation form possible.

            Good day @[email protected]

Let me explain you how to offer Custom Payment type for $0:

Example: If you have 3 products, in that one having the value of $0 and if you would like to offer only custom payment for that specific $0 product, please follow the steps in the image below:

Name:	GF1.jpg
Views:	112
Size:	56.2 KB
ID:	32423

You need to click on the Advanced tab under Credit Card field and Enable the Conditional Logic and set it as shown in the below image:

Name:	GF2.jpg
Views:	110
Size:	53.9 KB
ID:	32424

Once you done with the above, you need to add the Conditional Logic under Custom Payment field as shown in the below image:

Name:	GF3.jpg
Views:	112
Size:	60.0 KB
ID:	32425

Regarding the {SKIPIF0} condition which you are referring to is to offer the patron to enter their desire $ values instead of selecting the predefined $ values.

            Hope that helps.

I appreciate the walk through, but I actually have tried implementing a conditional custom payment, and when I get it all lined up and showing up right, I get the error message:

              Error processing card transaction:
Address should be greater than 2 Characters.

But we don't want to require address entry for people just registering for free. What should I do with that?

(The skipif0 caught my attention because it said it would circumvent processing, which is where the hang up seems to be)

                Good day @[email protected]

It seems that you have set Address field mandatory. Please note that in case of Address field mandatory, we are verifying minimum 2 characters and maximum 100 characters. Please keep that field optional in order to fix that.

Well, that's a weird way to go since it seems like it shouldn't evaluate fields that have been hidden by conditional logic, but regardless, that didn't work. I un-required both addresses and even the credit card payment itself (which again, is all hidden because we aren't requesting it for free registrations), and it still asks for the minimum two characters. I've attached that part of the form. Note, at this point I'm not using the form I originally posted, which is our live form, I'm using:

There is no excerpt because this is a protected post.

use the password "form" to see it. But yeah, not requiring much of anything right now except name and email.

Yes, and as I detailed in that ticket, I don't have FTP access, therefore no normal credentials. I have made a user in the actual site system and it should have emailed the info to [email protected], I'll leave it active for one week unless I hear y'all need more time to look at it, but giving that level of access to our website isn't really normal procedure. I ask that you only touch the Gravity Form called "Read for the Record Registration v2", because the original is live on our site.

If you are referring to the post #9? we possibly cannot guess whats going in the backend by seeing that page link. We need the login details of your website admin panel in order to debug the issue.

You can possibly use the login information that I clearly said I sent to your support email address in post #13 - I gave you the link so you would know where it is used.

You have the access you need now, I'm looking forward to resolving this.
