  • How to setup Gravity form to collect info of donors who decide to pay via Check

    Hello,

I have a question about the Gravity Forms Wordpress plugin - What needs to be done with the setup to collect information about donors who decide to pay via check instead of credit card? A client I am working with uses Gravity forms on their website. One of their requirement is that the donor can choose to pay later by check and they select the option on the form - https://www.jcrcboston.org/donate/ge...-service-rsvp/
The client also has the CnP-Salesforce connector setup.
How can we ensure that the data of the donor ends up in Salesforce?

Hope I have made myself clear :-/

    Thanks,
    Ronak.

Building on this same situation ...for the same form actually. We want to allow participants to mail in a check at a later date, if they would prefer not to use a credit card. On the form side, I thought that I could just hide the Credit Card field is they choose to pay by check, but, since they are trying to pay for something, so even if the CC field is hidden, it kicks back an error, even though the user can't see it. Is there any way to allow for a purchase without payment at that time? When I asked Gravity Form about it, they asked is the plugin has set up Conditional Logic and sent me this tutorial, https://www.gravityhelp.com/document...gravity-forms/. It doesn't look like your plugin does include this feature, as far as I could tell.

Any suggestions from the Gravity forms, or a Click & Pledge standpoint as to how this could be worked out?

The client is a bit antsy about getting this resolved. So thank you very in advance for any help and direction you could give.
Sometimes, you may want to allow a user to either pay with one payment gateway or another. In this article, we will show you how to send a payment to either PayPal or Stripe based on the user's options using conditional logic.

      Good day!

The API requires a payment method. Without it the transaction cannot process.

The solution is to offer custom payment type in GravityForm. We are now working on this and will keep you posted when the solution is available.

I there that there was an update to the plugin that from the Changelog may have resolved this problem. Can you give me any more information about the updates? Also, have they been tested? I updated it and the site crashed - there's a chance it was on the server end, but I wanted to make sure before trying again. Thank you!

          Good day @CPDesigns,

This update was completed last week and it was under testing for more than a week. Every release goes through a lot of testing before releasing so I hope the issue is not ours. Naturally this is a third party implementation and who knows what happens with clients with different packages installed. The cross talk is not something one can predict.

Please let us know if you experience the problem again and we will try to duplicate your environment.

Thank you for the quick reply. Can you tell me a bit more about the update itself and what changes were made?

Hi, I had a chance to retry updating the plugin, and it did update smoothly, but its unclear how the changes work. I did see the form option for a C&P Custom Payment and the option came up blank, I attached a screenshot. Is this correct? Is there some further documentation about how the it works and what it should look like. Thank you!

                    @CPDesigns,

The issue you experienced was due to a missing file in WordPress.org that was somehow dropped when updated in WordPress. The file was updated again and it works fine now.

The features that are added in each release are in the release notes. In this case it was simply a refresh of the upload.

                    Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the response. I did update the plugin last night - I'm still experience the same thing as described on 8/6 in the post above - is this correct? If so, how does it work? I've attached the screen shot from today.

The posts announcing the the updates are great - but some documentation about how they actually work would be very helpful. I understand this plugin is a work in progress - and I love how responsive and helpful you have been, but if there would be a more thorough set of instructions about how to use the plugin, that would be very helpful, especially to people who are new to the plugin.

                      Thank you!!
